About Dr Julie
Dr Julie Beuth is a Canberra institution. Originally from New Zealand, she graduated from the University of Auckland in 1981 and has been practising in Australia since 1989, raising her family here and building something genuinely rare in modern general practice: a community of patients who have followed her for decades.
She owned and ran her own practice in Macquarie, ACT for sixteen years, and many of her patients from those days are still with her today. That kind of loyalty says everything about the kind of doctor she is.
Training and Qualifications
Dr Julie holds her primary medical degree from the University of Auckland and has built her specialist credentials around the areas that matter most to her patients. She holds a Diploma of Dermoscopy and a Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine, giving her the clinical tools to assess, diagnose and manage skin cancer with the depth you would expect from a dedicated specialist.
Clinical focus at Health Plus GP
With more than forty years in general practice, Dr Julie is as comfortable managing a complex chronic condition as she is supporting a patient through a women’s health concern or conducting a thorough skin check. She has particular interests in women’s health, men’s health, and chronic disease management, but she genuinely enjoys all areas of medicine and will tell you so.
She takes a whole-person approach to care, and that includes lifestyle. If you come to see Dr Julie, be prepared for a conversation about exercise. She considers it part of the prescription.
Outside the consulting room
Dr Julie and her husband Wayne live on a two-acre property where they produce their own olive oil, and Wayne makes wine, beer and cider from the land. She is a committed skier, runner and cyclist, and brings that same energy to her clinical practice.
