Fees, Payment Options, and Rebates
Health Plus General Practice is a private practice with a compassionate billing policy. Our fees reflect the cost of providing thorough, high quality care, and we’re upfront about them so there are no surprises. In line with our philosophy, we aim to provide a consistent, high standard of medical care to every patient, every visit.
Payment is required at the time of consultation. Bulk billing is not available for GP consultations. Some visits to our practice nurse are bulk billed.
- Standard consultation (up to 15 minutes): $114.50, Medicare rebate: $45.05
- Long consultation (up to 30 minutes): $179.50, Medicare rebate: $87.10
- Full body skin check (30 minutes): $200, Medicare rebate: $87.10
Payroll Tax: An additional $5.50 is applied to all privately billed consultations, to cover the cost of Payroll Tax recently imposed on all general practices by the ACT Government.
Payment options and Medicare rebates
Full payment is required on the day of your visit. We accept cash, EFTPOS, VISA and MasterCard. Where applicable, Medicare rebates are issued electronically once your account has been paid.
Running late
We understand and value your time. We endeavour to run to schedule, but this isn’t always possible. Our doctors often manage complex clinical concerns and medical emergencies between scheduled patients. Please bear with our team, we’ll do our best to keep you updated on any delays as they happen.
To help our doctors stay on track, please arrive on time unless we’ve told you otherwise, and let reception know if you’re running late. If you can’t make it to your appointment as scheduled, we may need to rebook you.
Cancellations and non-attendance
We understand unforeseen circumstances come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact reception at least the day before, or a minimum of 4 hours prior to your appointment. Early notice lets us offer that time to another patient who needs it.
Cancelling or rescheduling with less than 4 hours’ notice, or missing your appointment without a valid reason, may incur a fee of $50 for a standard appointment or $100 for an extended appointment. We know things happen, so if there’s a valid reason, just let us know.
