Dr Enas Al Shahabi brings over 15 years’ experience in General Practice. Dr Al Shahabi has expanded her clinical expertise through further postgraduate studies in Practical Dermatology, including skin cancer management and dermoscopy, completed at Cardiff University (UK) in 2008.

Dr Al Shahabi has a particular interest in skin cancer detection and surgical procedures. She offers thorough and comprehensive skin assessments, supported by dermoscopy to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Where required, biopsies can usually be performed at the time of consultation.

If a skin cancer or other concerning lesion is identified, Dr Al Shahabi is highly experienced in surgical excision and also provides non-surgical treatments, including cryotherapy, when clinically appropriate.

Julie is a Kiwi import with over 40 years experience in general practice. She owned her own practice in Macquarie, ACT for 16 years and still has a large following from her Macquarie practice days. She graduated from the University of Auckland in 1981 and moved to Australia in 1989. Her 2 daughters grew up in Canberra, and she is now “Nana” to 8 grandchildren; 4 in Australia, 3 in the UK and one in New Zealand.

Julie’s special clinical interests include skin cancer medicine and surgery (she holds a Diploma of Dermoscopy and a Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine), and women’s health, but she is happy dealing with all areas of medicine.

Julie and her husband, Wayne, live on a 2-acre property and in 2021 began producing their own olive oil. Wayne also makes their own wine, beer and cider with produce from the property. She is a passionate skier and also runs and cycles to keep fit, so don’t be surprised if she routinely questions you about exercise!

Dr Abeya is a registered GP and General Surgeon. After completing her training in the UK, she moved to Australia and has been a GP in Canberra since 2010.

Her special interests are all aspects of general medicine, women’s health, the removal of skin cancers, Mirena IUD and Implanon insertions and removals, and cervical screening.

Dr Ming-Chien Li is an experience general practitioner, that enjoys all aspects of general medicine. Prior to joining Health Plus, Dr Li has enjoyed working at rural Emergency Departments for more than 8 years.

Dr Li is also a skin cancer specialist who has many years of experience working in a skin cancer clinic. He loves seeing patients for skin checks and is very capable of performing various surgical procedures for skin cancer excision.

He is available in the practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. He is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Taiwanese.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and spending time with his family.

Dr Justin Armellin is a 2014 graduate of the Sydney University post graduate medical program. Prior to entering general practice, he developed his skills working in a multitude of emergency departments across NSW, before eventually returning to his hometown of Canberra. He appreciates looking for ways to apply his medical knowledge to provide tangible improvements to peoples live’s, and prides himself on providing education to his patients so that they may better understand and manage their health conditions. Justin is happy to see people of all ages.

Dr Luke Freestone, is a born and raised Canberran. Luke completed his medical studies at the Australian National University and then his junior doctor years in Canberra and the surrounding rural region, including Goulburn and Moruya.

He enjoys all aspects of General Practice, including men’s and women’s health, preventative health, but has a particular passion for sport and care of athletes. He has enjoyed working with several community and semi-professional sporting organisations, assisting athletes with acute injuries, impacts of nutritional deficits or navigating their health concerns within the limits of the National anti-doping scheme.

Paul is a registered Psychologist with over 32 years of experience in the disability and trauma sector. He is also trained in the Safe and Sound Protocol, a process which is designed to reduce auditory hypersensitivities which are sometimes present in children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

During Paul’s younger days, he was an Australian nationally ranked tennis player. To this day, Paul likes to keep fit, trains regularly and has a special interest in intermittent fasting.

Joel completed his Physiotherapy degree at Charles Sturt University in Orange NSW after completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Canberra.

Joel has played rugby in Canberra since a young age, playing over 100 junior and senior games for the Western Districts Rugby club including the 2017 John I Dent Grand final before playing for the Hall Bushrangers Rugby Club. Joel was also a swim instructor for 10 years, teaching from babies to adult stroke correction and squad coaching for state level junior athletes.

Joel is the current Head Physiotherapist at Gungahlin Eagles Rugby Club. Has spent a year as the head of the Brumbies Junior Academy and Pathways program and has worked with the Brumbies Super Rugby squad and Senior Academy.

Away from sport, Joel has a clinical interest in orthopaedic prehab/rehab, shoulder injuries in swimmers, lower back injuries and hand injuries, he is dedicated to providing quality care and achieving personal goals for all patients.

Joel is also currently studying his Masters of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy at La Trobe University.
